Internships

Mi Gente Hispana has designed an internship program that provides a means for highly motivated individuals in the community to gain hands on work experience across multiple skill sets in the media industry. At completion of the internship program, individuals will have gained the skills necessary to prepare them for increased employment opportunities.
Interns are assigned to an organization department based on the candidate’s background, skill set and interests. The assignments are project-oriented, meaningful to the department and allow the intern to take responsibility for major tasks. Interns experience a sense of personal accomplishment and contribution through work assignments and structured activities. This a year-round internship program with a limited availability per position.

Advertising Sales Representative (I-AR2101)

Ambitious Advertising Sales Representatives are needed for outside sales to service the Washington D.C. metropolitan market. We are seeking upbeat, highly motivated aggressive individuals who will gain experience in consultative selling, giving presentations and closing deals within print and online advertising sales. The client base will include a strong base of existing clients and development of new clients in an assigned territory by prospecting and cold calling. Some outside sales experience is required. Commissions will be paid based upon performance. Your own transportation is required.

Blog Writer (I-BW5419)

We are interested in bloggers to write about topics focusing on current events related to Hispanic culture and politics in the U.S. Creative and highly engaging articles are a must. Bloggers will be working from home, and will be required to write 2-3 posts per week. Blog posts will be evaluated by our blog team and only selected works will be published. Selected bloggers will poses a deep interest in culture and or politics, have some blog writing experience, and the posses the ability to write engaging content. Bloggers must be flexible and able to meet deadlines. This position allows interns to work from home. When showing interest in this position, please include 2 samples of work at the end of your resume or links to where your work is cited.

Graphic Designer (I-GD1502)

Reporting to the Design Manager, this candidate will design a wide variety of challenging projects (Print Campaigns, Digital Ads, Microsites, Widgets, HTML Emails, DVD’s, PowerPoint, Animations, Conference Materials) that focus on bringing sales and marketing goals to life in the most engaging ways possible. Experience using multiple software products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and After Effects is necessary. Successful candidates will demonstrated ability to develop conceptual visual ideas and execute against them to create innovative digital solutions in a highly collaborative environment.
